The purpose of correction of convicts, as one of the main ones in criminal and penal enforcement law, has been known to Russian science for a long period of time.
This goal is dictated by the needs of society in a safe environment, as well as the real possibility of realizing human rights and freedoms.
Penal law, penitentiary psychology and penal pedagogy are designed to develop problem-based repair study with the public relations arising in the execution of criminal sanctions and the implementation of psycho-pedagogical process and educational impact in the institutions and bodies of criminal Executive system of the Russian Federation.
Most of the problems of correction of convicts are considered from the point of view of assessing their adaptive functions at the time of their stay in prison and their opportunities for social adaptation in the future. At the same time, the Russian legislator currently associates the goal of correction only with the result of educational, as well as psychological and pedagogical influence exerted on the convicted person.
