Decrees on national goals and strategic development objectives in this area. The analysis of the scope of application of the legislation on personal data and the basic principles of functioning of the Unified identification and authentication system of the Russian Federation and
the Unified biometric system is carried out. The terms “biometrics”, “personal data”, “biometric personal data” are considered in order to study the possibilities of using biometric personal data. National standards in the field of biometrics were studied.
