Annotation:

The article discusses the concept and nature of punishment in the form of community service as well as some problems associated with the execution of this punishment under legisla-tion of the Russian Federation. The subject of our research is the norms of the criminal and correctional law regulating the order of application of the punishment in the form of community service; the regulatory and legal acts adjusting activity of penal enforcement inspectorates as well as practice of their work; the scientific and educational literature, the publications concerning problems of community service execution. The purpose of the article is consideration and legal analysis of theory-applied aspects of sentence enforcement in the form of community service. The research methodology includes general theory of cognition, general scientific (systematic approach, logical, etc.) and specific scientific (structural-functional analysis, technical legal, etc.) methods. Practical application. Results are defined in recommendations, proposals and conclusions contained in the study. The scope of the results. The materials of the publication can be used in the educational process and research activities; they will increase the level of theoretical and practical training of students.
Conclusion. A legal analysis of the institution of community service has shown that the application practices of this type of punishment indicates the existence of a number of problems that require further study and authorization, both at the legislative and law enforcement levels.
