Annotation:

The article is devoted to the study of the emotional and volitional sphere of convicts who have mental and behavioral disorders as a result of drug use, serving sentences in correctional institutions of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia. The materials of an empirical study of 50 male respondents held in prison for more than a year are presented. The analysis of pathopsychological differences in the emotional-volitional sphere in the groups of convicts who have mental and behavioral disorders as a result of drug use, and convicts who do not have drug dependence.
The study used the following methods: spielberger-Hanin, “determination of willpower” (R. S. Nemov), “Unfinished sentences”. The results are processed using mathematical statistics methods.
In the course of the study, it was revealed: for convicts who have mental and behavioral disorders as a result of drug use, it is characterized by: the presence of weak willpower; qualitative differences in the level of indicators “personal anxiety” and “situational anxiety”; the presence of conflict systems of relations in areas such as: awareness of guilt, attitude to the
future, attitude to the family.
The results of the study can be used by prison psychologists in practice.
