Annotation:

Analyzes the current question on the activities of e-government of the Russian Federation discussed the definition of «electronic government» pulled objectives of the formation and activities of e-government using information and communication technologies, with the aim of improving the efficiency of state management and interagency cooperation, efficiency of pro-vision of state and municipal services, which is one of the main tasks of government. The list of federal laws that make up its regulatory legal basis is presented, and a number of other regulatory legal acts regulating the activities of e-government are analyzed. The stages of fur-ther development of e-government and the transformation of this direction into «open government» and «digital government» are considered. The data of the rating of the e-government development index of the Russian Federation, presented by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations, are shown. The analysis of the indicators of the e-government development index of the Russian Federation from 2003 to 2020 is carried out. The issues of electronic interaction between state bodies and citizens through the official websites of state bodies on the Internet are analyzed, the difficulties encountered in organizing such interaction in achieving the goals for the widespread use of electronic government of the Russian Federation are analyzed, and proposals for its further development are considered.
