Annotation:

The article examines the main reasons and conditions for the escape from protection by convicts (suspects and accused) of institutions of the penal system of the Russian Federation. The statistical reporting of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for 2012-2020 is reflected, which shows that the escape activity of convicts (suspects and accused) is declining. Escapes from educational colonies and prisons were not allowed in the past year. The system of general preventive measures aimed at preventing escapes (attempts to escape) from places of deprivation of liberty and imprisonment, depending on the conditions of their commission, is revealed. The article describes the work of the structural divisions of institutions for the implementation of preventive measures for the escape activity of convicts (suspects and accused). On the basis of the studied measures for the prevention of these crimes, we came to the following conclusion: that only an integrated approach, taking into account a number of various factors and characteristics of convicts (suspects and accused): personal, sociodemographic, situational, timely transmitted operational information with the interaction of all services can lead to stable environment in the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
