FEATURES OF THE ACTIVITY OF EDUCATIONAL AND CORRECTIONAL COLONIES FOR MINORS IN THE XIX CENTURY

Annotation:

The article is devoted to the study of the specifics of the activities of educational and correctional institutions for minors in Russia in the XIX century. The paper analyzes the local regulations that regulated the activities of these institutions, and compares them with the all-Russian regulations and laws in force at that time. The author dwells in more detail on the activities of the Kiev, Vilna, Nizhny Novgorod, Riga and Simbirsk colonies. Separately, it is indicated that educational and correctional colonies acted not only as institutions intended for the correction of juvenile delinquents, but also functioned as institutions for the prevention and prevention of crimes.
Within the framework of the article, the following methodology was used: the method of analysis and synthesis allowed us to study aspects related to the regulatory and legal regulation of the activities of educational and correctional colonies in Russia of the XIX century, the comparison method allowed us to determine the main activities of these institutions, the use of the comparative legal method allowed us to identify differences and similarities in the approach of the founders to the regulation of the activities of these institutions.
